Scientific / Student Assistant (m/​f/​d)

lou​ven​.legal is a spe­cia­li­zed bou­tique for anti­trust and tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law in Det­mold (OWL). We advi­se tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons com­pa­nies and other inno­va­ti­ve com­pa­nies on anti­trust law in the infor­ma­ti­on socie­ty, tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law, and inter­na­tio­nal com­mer­cial law.

We are con­ti­nuous­ly loo­king for sci­en­ti­fic / stu­dent assistants on a part-time basis (10 – 25 hours/​week).

What we need:

The posi­ti­on is well sui­ted as a secon­da­ry acti­vi­ty for an anti­trust, tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons or eco­no­mics PhD or to bridge the wai­ting peri­od for a clerk­ship or ano­ther pro­fes­sio­nal posi­ti­on. The fol­lo­wing acti­vi­ties may be rele­vant for you:

  • Rese­arch on anti­trust and tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law issues
  • Back­ground rese­arch with inter­na­tio­nal and com­pa­ra­ti­ve law references
  • Col­la­bo­ra­ti­on on rese­arch projects
  • Sup­port in pre­pa­ring lec­tures and presentations
  • Sci­en­ti­fic sup­port for spe­ci­fic man­da­te-rela­ted questions
  • Lite­ra­tu­re management
  • Pro­ofre­a­ding of publi­ca­ti­on drafts
  • Crea­ting brief expert opi­ni­ons, sum­ma­ries or statements
  • If neces­sa­ry, own publications

What we expect:

You have an inte­rest in anti­trust and tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law and are expe­ri­en­ced in inde­pen­dent legal rese­arch. We are plea­sed about abo­ve-avera­ge stu­dy results, good Eng­lish lan­guage skills and a good under­stan­ding of com­pe­ti­ti­ve and tech­ni­cal con­texts.
Pre­vious know­ledge in anti­trust and/​or tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law is advan­ta­ge­ous but not a must. Ide­al­ly, you have alre­a­dy gai­ned some expe­ri­ence with a lite­ra­tu­re manage­ment pro­gram.
We do not expect a legal sta­te exami­na­ti­on. We also wel­co­me appli­ca­ti­ons with eco­no­mic or poli­ti­cal sci­ence back­grounds or degrees from abroad, as long as you alre­a­dy have con­nec­tions to Euro­pean anti­trust or tele­com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons law.
