The Executive Board of the Hamm Bar Association (Rechtsanwaltskammer Hamm) has appointed me as a full member of its Specialist Committee for International Business Law. The Committee forms part of the statutory framework governing certified specialist lawyers in International Business Law in Germany.
The Hamm Bar Association is one of Germany’s statutory regional bar associations. Its responsibilities include overseeing the admission and professional conduct of lawyers within its jurisdiction as well as the German system of certified specialist lawyers (Fachanwälte).
The Specialist Committee for International Business Law examines applications from lawyers seeking the formal designation of Fachanwalt für Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht (Certified Specialist Lawyer for International Business Law).
In particular, the Committee assesses whether applicants have demonstrated the special theoretical knowledge and practical experience required under the German Specialist Lawyers Regulations (Fachanwaltsordnung). Following its assessment, the Committee submits its final opinion to the Executive Board of the Hamm Bar Association, which decides on the award of the specialist designation.
As of 1 September 2026, the Committee consists of Dr Wolfgang Nockelmann, Dr Christian Schleifenbaum and myself.
I have held the designation of Fachanwalt für Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht since 2022.
